There are warriors who live for legend. And there are those who become it by outlasting all else. Vôruns Wall, the elite Hearthguard of Vôrun Hold, is not known for flourish or fanfare. It is known for standing.

Origin in Ash and Ledger

Forged in the crucible of the Orgvayr diaspora, Vôruns Wall was not assembled — it endured into being. Formed from the fractured remains of scattered Kindred who fled warp storms and institutional neglect, it became the first true shield of Kal Vôrun. Under the stewardship of Thôrmun Vôrrek, it was never a ceremonial guard, but the keystone in a doctrine of survival.

Ten Hearthguard, ten ledgers. Each entry etched not in glory, but in grit.

Structure and Background

Vôruns Wall is composed of ten Hearthguard and their commander:

➤ Four Vôrun-Born

Kin born or reforged under the shadow of Vôrun Hold — descendants of miners, salvagers, and engineers made warriors by necessity.

• Kjarn Brokkskarn – “The ledger is honest.”
  Stoic bookkeeper of lives taken and lost. First to vow service to Kal Vôrun.

• Thronn Veygr – “Stand. That is enough.”
  A silent sentry whose shield has not broken since the Hold’s founding.

• Zorr Haltrik – “No price is unpaid.”
  Once a salvager who buried kin in ore shafts under fire, now an iron wall.

• Merrik Holdgrund – “The data is remembered, even when the kin forget.”
  Tactical savant. Once an archivist, now a gunline anchor.

➤ Four League Veterans

Hardened fighters from distant Leagues, absorbed into Vôrun Hold when politics would not reabsorb them.

• Ghart Arn’ssen – “Do not name what you cannot bury.”
  Ymyr-born, survivor of six fronts. Speaks rarely, grieves never.

• Urx Varran – “Let them come.”
  Last seen holding an outer bastion for five days alone during the Fall of Gral-17.

• Rhondug Vehl – “First through. Last out.”
  Fought alongside Iron Hands on Praedis-Zeta. Bionics outdated but lethal.

• Yorr Vhun – “One life. One ledger.”
  Sole heir of a dead Kindred. Seeks no redemption, only fulfillment of accounts.

➤ Two Wild Cards

Unorthodox entries into the wall, brought in for effect, not pedigree.

• Dhrak Voltur – “I was broken. Then made.”
  Identity erased in trauma. Chosen by Kal Vôrun during one of its more lucid visions.

• Kromd Halvek – “Only the last breath counts.”
  Former duelist turned breach tactician. Volunteers for all missions with no return expectation.

Leadership

• Môktar Vôrunsdóttir, the Suture-Karl – “If it breaks, it breaks on me.”
  Once commander, battlefield reformer, and the first of Vôrun's children born in post-storm stability. Now in political mentorship under Thôrmun — a contingency for succession, not a forecast.

• Kâhl Drakmir of the Kronus Hegemony – “Cost reveals strength.”
  Survivor of the failed Commorragh raid. Stoic, scarred, and loyal not by blood, but by principle. Reassigned by Uthar, he now leads Vôruns Wall into war — with no room for failure.

Tactical Function

Vôruns Wall is not deployed to prove a point. They are unleashed to end one.

They function as the decisive pivot of any battleplan. Where other forces wither, they hold. Where lines falter, they anchor. When the ledger demands payment in full, they collect.
